Released 03 March 2025
The current release provides English and German user interfaces. Documentation is currently available only in English. Translation work for a German version of the documentation has been suspended and will only be completed if any demand for it is identified (send us a message if you are interested).
Please note that the German user interface is new and may be incomplete, so that English texts may still appear in some places. We're working on it.
Links to the internet pages from the local help page in the Android variant do not work correctly. Access the internet help via the links under "Web resources" on the IK-Wine Info page. This problem will be corrected in the next release.
This release contains a number of general error corrections relevant to all variants.
Android only
The backup and restore function has been changed to correctly allow access to global directories (downloads, documents, etc.) for backup files.
The Android software has been updated to conform to requirements of the current Android release (V14). Desktop software has been updated for compatibility reasons.
The software has been updated to conform to the current Kippsware licensing and synchronisation models. Minor functional corrections have been made. There should be no significant differences in handling.
These changes only affect the Android variant. Android version 1.5.1 is fully compatible with desktop variants with version 1.5.0
Access to external storage now handles permissions correctly
Changes / corrections have been made to the in-app licence purchase procedure
Changes have been made to ensure compatibility with newer versions of Android (specifically, API Level 28).
An installation package for Mac OS X is now available.
Some minor error corrections have been made to improve stability.
Changes have been made to ensure compatibility with newer versions of Android (specifically, API Level 26). The user may see new system dialogues requesting permission to access external storage. Such access is required for the database backup and restore features.
The backup function on Android now allows the backup directory to be chosen by the user.
A remaining problem with the first-time use of the Dropbox synchronisation has been resolved.
This version now operates correctly with the Dropbox V2 API. Problems with synchronisation since End September 2017 arising from Dropbox interface changes are now resolved.
Under certain circumstances, it was possible that use of the function to define a new record (e.g. a new wine, a new region) would cause the app to crash. It was then impossible - even after a restart - to enter any new items. The error could only appear if at least 61 records of one type were defined. This has now been corrected.
Synchronization of local changes on a device was not performed correctly if changes were made and the app was then stopped and restarted before the synchronization function was executed.
The synchronisation process has been rewritten. Synchronisation now uses the user's Dropbox account to hold a master database with which all devices are synchronised. Synchronisation via a direct wire connection between devices is no longer supported.
Local backup and restore management for the database is now available.
Editing an element of the region list on an Android device would cause loss of data when this device was synchronized with the PC master. Correction is only relevant to the PC software.
