This is an inventory manager for wine cellars. It organizes the wine inventory by region and presents the wine list in a form that is easily reviewed and updated. It allows easy tracking of purchase and consumption, and is fully configurable.
The region organizer displays wine regions in a hierarchy, so you can, for instance, find all wines in "France", or just wines from "Côte de Nuits".
The product comes with a predefined configuration showing a number of European wine regions. This can be edited and extended, and the hierarchical organization can be manipulated as required, so you can create a world-wide region overview specially adapted to your requirements
Wines can be assigned characteristics (colour, grape, official quality indication, personal verdict, storage location, when drinkable). Further characteristics can be defined by the user as required. The wine list can then be restricted to show wines with specified characteristics (e.g. all red wines in list drinkable now).
For each wine, and for each wine region, there is a space for entering notes.
The purchase and consumption tracking allows you to record what you have bought, when you bought it, at what price, and from where. The list of suppliers (wine merchants, etc.) can be extended and edited as required.
The consumption record contains the date of consumption.
The description of a wine is independent of the purchase record, so the description of a wine does not disappear when all bottles have been drunk. You can set the list view to show only wines in the cellar, or all wines for which you have a description. This is useful for restocking.
An overview is provided showing the total content and value of the contents of the cellar.
The PC variant of the software is free of charge and can be downloaded from the Kippsware web site.
The Android variant is optimized for phones (small screen) and is available on Google play. The software is free to download, but you must purchase a licence in-app if you want to define more than 10 wines.
The two variants are functionally identical. The main difference is that the PC variant shows all information simultaneously in a number of windows, whereas the Android variant shows the same information in four separate screens, with a select function to view the screen required.
Data can be easily synchronized between any number of devices Android and PC devices using your Dropbox account.
The software is currently available in English only. A German translation is in progress. Other languages may be supported in the future. The software is designed to synchronize between installations using different languages.
