For this product, the same licensing system is used for both desktop and Android variants. It follows that the Android variant is not available on Google Play.
Licences are currently free of charge and are restricted to four per user, the user being identified by an email address. We require that the product be licenced (registered) in order to protect it from unauthorised distribution. Licence types described in the section "Purchased Licences" below are currently free of charge, but we reserve the right to institute charges for new users at a later date. Any user obtaining a permanent or renewable licence while these are free of charge will not be charged later for any update or licence renewal, may however be charged for the issue of further licences.
The software as downloaded can be installed and used without registration. The notebook contents are limited to a maximum of 50 notes. This is intended to give the user an opportunity to examine the principal functions without having to register. It is not intended for serious use.
Test licences are free of charge, are valid for a one month. They are not renewable for the device on which they are installed. All features of the software are available without limitation for the licence period. A user may have three active test licences (on three different devices) at any time. When a licence expires, data already entered remains available, even if the limit of 50 notes has been exceeded.
A renewable licence is currently valid for one year and may then be renewed an unlimited number of times free of charge. If not renewed, the licence may be installed on a different device, for which the same conditions then apply. This is intended to facilitate device updates. Note that such licences may be rescinded if licence conditions are not adhered to, in which case the renewal is no longer possible.
A permanent licence is valid indefinitely and requires no further contact with the suppler. It is only valid for the hardware device for which it was obtained and cannot be rescinded or transferred.
A licencee is identified by an email address. A licence is requested from a function in the installed software, and must be requested from the device for which it is to be used. The request results in a licence key being emailed to the specified email address. A data exchange for identification of the hardware takes place directly. We assume the user protects his/her email, and the licence is therefore unavailable to malicious users. The user must then enter the licence key in the product software.
The only data stored on the licence server is the email address of the licence owner and the hardware identification. This is not used for any purpose other than for validating the licence and handling renewal requests for it, if relevant.
If a valid licence is lost, due for example to disk failure or damage to the client file system,, it can be restored at no charge by request to the licence server.
