Due to the currently limited demand for the software, we currently offer full "purchased" licences free of charge. Registration of the first "purchased"
licence generates a contingent of four licences. The remaining three may be assigned to further software installations. The procedure is as described
below. Licence contingents obtained now will remain valid - without payment - even when in future licence charges may be introduced.
Until licence payments are introduced, the contingent of four licences cannot be increased.
Licence management is accessible in the desktop software via the menu item "Info / Licence management".
The following licence situations are possible:
The software as downloaded can be installed and used on desktop machines. The amount of data that may be handled is strictly limited to a maximum of 50 transactions across all defined accounts. This is intended to give the user an opportunity to examine the principal functions without having to register. It is not intended for serious use.
Test licences are free of charge, are valid for a short fixed length of time (usually 1 month) and are not renewable for the device on which they are installed. A single user may not obtain more than three test licences. All features of the software are available without limitation during the validity of the licence.
A renewable licence is valid for one year and may then be renewed an unlimited number of times free of charge. If not renewed, the licence may be installed on a different device, for which the same conditions then apply. This is intended to facilitate device updates.
A permanent licence is valid indefinitely and requires no further contact with the suppler. It is only valid for the hardware device for which it was obtained and cannot be rescinded or transferred.
It is usual - in many countries a legal requirement - that on-line purchases can be cancelled within a certain period after the purchase operation. We therefore verify the licence once after this period has expired. If the user has cancelled the purchase, we cancel the licence, otherwise the licence is confirmed with the originally agreed conditions. This procedure is automatic, but means that a single further contact between the licenced device and the licence server is required.
Prices are not yet fixed but we expect a price of around €10 (including relevant taxes) for a block of three licences. A licence block allows the installation of up to three licences of either renewable or permanent type.
During the life cycle of the product, we reserve the right to licence significant new features or releases separately. This will not invalidate existing licences.
Test licences are free and will remain so.
A licencee is identified by an email address. A licence is requested from a function in the installed software, and must be requested from the device for which it is to be used. The request results in a licence key being emailed to the specified email address. A data exchange for identification of the hardware takes place directly. We assume the user protects his/her email, and the licence is therefore unavailable to malicious users. The user must then enter the licence key in the product software.
The only data stored is the email address of the licence owner and the hardware identification. This is not used for any purpose other for than validating the licence and renewal requests for it, if relevant.
