Personal data that may be stored on our web site are limited to the names and email addresses of users.
Where such personal data is collected, this is done with the consent of the user. Registration with our web site indicates this consent. The use of the public parts of the site without registration is possible and does not require that any user data be provided. Data that is collected will not be passed to third parties and will not be used for any purpose other than the assignment and management of user rights to restricted sections of the site.
Contributions uploaded by users for the specific purpose of publication on the site will be published (if at all) with the user identification in the form of the registered name and email address.
All Kippsware apps require registration with the Kippsware Licence Server to unlock full functionality. Registration is initiated from the app and requires the user's email address, which is stored together with a hardware identification and the date of registration. No other data is stored. This procedure is currently not required for apps downloaded from the Google Play store.
Any data collected by an app is specific to that app and resides in the data storage of the device on which the app executes. Such data will be shared between devices running the same app with the same user identification if the user elects to synchronize data between multiple insertions of an app. This requires that the user explicit activates the synchronization function.
No data is collected by the Kippsware system for any purpose. No analysis is performed on user data.
Please note the following in connection with data synchronization:
Data can be synchronized between app installations using either the Kippsware server ("native synchronization") or a Dropbox account belonging to the user.
If the user elects to use his/her Dropbox account, use of the function causes data to be stored on a Dropbox server under the user's account. We have no access to the account or to the data transferred. The software implementation of this function uses the published Dropbox programming interface. The provision of the Dropbox synchronisation procedure does not imply a guarantee by us of secure data transfer or secure data storage on the Dropbox server (although we trust this to be the case). We have no influence over these operations. See the Dropbox data protection policy for details.
If the user elects to use native synchronization, data is stored on the Kippsware server. It is not used for any purpose other than synchronizing data between devices. The user has the option of encrypting such data using an encryption password of his/her choosing. We have no access to this password. This synchronization method is currently not available for apps downloaded from the Google Play store.
All Kippsware apps incorporate a feature that allows the device's standard browser to be started from the app, so that help files can be displayed from our web site. Identification data of the device or the user are not transferred to the web site server during this operation.
The Android variant of the app IK-Org provides functions with which the Android system address book can be read and written. This allows the synchronization of the IK-Org and system address databases. It results in data from the system address book being copied to the the IK-Org data store. The app can also initiate calls and send SMS. These functions must be initiated by explicit user action.
Please note that the security of data transfer in the internet (e.g. by email) cannot be guaranteed, and lies outside the competence of any single site provider.
