Professional experience

I have worked for many years in the IT industry in software development and the management of software projects, for employers which included two internationally active software houses and a major German electrical engineering company. I have worked in both England and Germany (mostly the latter), and am fluent in both English and German.

Projects included implementation of business applications (payroll, etc.), real-time control systems, factory automation applications, and compiler and operating system implementation, with personal responsibilities ranging from software implementation to project and client management in Europe and the US.

In the last few years I have also been involved in development process definition and the installation and tracking of development processes in project teams.

Having reached an age at which I no longer depend on the results of my work for survival, I can now afford to do a job properly, or not at all, and only to do what I enjoy doing. I have noticed that in spite of an almost endless supply of personal software - both for PCs and mobile devices - it's often impossible to find relatively trivial applications that actually work correctly and do what they are supposed to do in a useful way.

If I can do something to rectify the situation, I shall at least benefit myself, and the KippsWare that I think may also be useful for others, I shall publish. Currently available products are documented here .

The KippsWare web framework, with which this web site is implemented, is the first example of KippsWare - portable, useful software that someone may like. And if no-one does, it doesn't matter.

More details of the web technologies used are documented here here .

My full CV, shorn, obviously, of any confidential information, can be found here in German and here in English. Print versions as pdf files are available in the download area .
